Finnmark Designs Infrared Saunas
Finnmark Designs builds modular home saunas around a combination of infrared heating, wood construction, and integrated controls. Current full-spectrum models use Spectrum Plus™ heaters together with Spectrum Carbon™ panels, while selected models also use near-infrared LED lighting as part of the overall system.
Finnmark states that its infrared sauna cabins are ETL listed and its Spectrum Plus™ infrared heaters are UL listed. Current models also use Western Canadian Red Cedar interiors with thermally modified Aspen exteriors, giving the cabins a different construction approach from many standard hemlock infrared saunas.
Full-Spectrum and Trinity Combination Saunas
The Finnmark lineup includes two distinct types of sauna. The full-spectrum infrared models are built around multiple infrared heater technologies, including Spectrum Plus™ and Spectrum Carbon™. These models are intended for buyers who want a dedicated infrared sauna.
The Trinity models take a different approach. They combine Finnmark infrared heaters with a traditional sauna heater and a red-light system in the same cabin. This allows buyers to choose between infrared heat and a more traditional sauna setup without purchasing two separate saunas.
How to Choose the Right Finnmark Sauna
Start with the type of sauna experience you want. If infrared is your priority, focus on the full-spectrum models. If you want both infrared and traditional sauna heating in one cabin, the Trinity combination models are the more relevant place to start.

Finnmark Sauna FAQs
Does the Finnmark Hybrid 2.0 include a traditional sauna heater?
No. Despite the name, the Finnmark Hybrid 2.0 FD-2 is a full-spectrum infrared sauna. It does not include a traditional hot-rock sauna heater.
Finnmark uses the Trinity name for its combination saunas that pair infrared heating with a traditional sauna heater. This distinction is important when comparing the FD-2 with the Trinity FD-4 and FD-5 models.
Can a Finnmark sauna be controlled or scheduled over Wi-Fi?
Finnmark's V2 Wi-Fi controller supports remote control through the Smart Life platform on models equipped with the system. The app can be used to set the target temperature, session time, and lighting, and to turn the sauna heaters on or off.
The controller also supports scheduled sessions. Buyers can set an on or off time, choose repeating days, and manage more than one schedule. Bluetooth audio is a separate feature used for music and does not replace the Wi-Fi sauna controls.
How hot do Finnmark infrared saunas get, and how long do they take to warm up?
Finnmark's infrared controller allows a maximum temperature setting of 170°F. The manufacturer recommends allowing about 15 to 20 minutes for the cabin to reach a comfortable temperature before beginning a session.
Reaching the maximum setting takes longer. Finnmark's operating guidance lists roughly 55 to 65 minutes for some infrared models to approach 170°F. Actual warm-up time can change with the model, starting room temperature, airflow, and sauna placement, so 170°F should not be treated as a guaranteed temperature at a fixed time.
What should I plan for before installing a Finnmark sauna?
Finnmark instructs owners to place the sauna on a solid, dry surface and keep the cabin freestanding rather than building it into a wall or enclosure. The installation manual also calls for at least 3 inches of clearance around the top and sides so the cabin and power connections remain accessible.
Electrical planning should be completed before assembly because requirements vary by model. Trinity combination saunas need additional planning because the infrared system and traditional heater have separate electrical requirements. Finnmark's controller instructions also require the controller to be mounted outside the sauna for indoor combination-sauna installations.
Are Finnmark saunas Low EMF?
Finnmark identifies its Spectrum Plus™ infrared heaters as Low EMF/ELF in current manufacturer specifications. However, Low EMF should not be interpreted as zero EMF or near-zero EMF.
Finnmark does not publish one universal milligauss reading that applies to every sauna model and every part of the cabin. For an accurate comparison with another sauna brand, the type of field measured, measurement distance, test method, and exact heater or model should all be considered.
What warranty does Finnmark provide on its saunas?
Finnmark currently promotes a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on its residential saunas, with separate lifetime coverage for Spectrum Plus™ infrared heaters. Its warranty documentation also lists coverage periods for carbon heaters, craftsmanship, electrical components, audio components, and other parts.
Coverage depends on the component, type of use, installation, and warranty terms in effect for the model purchased. Commercial use has different coverage, so buyers planning to install a Finnmark sauna in a business should review the commercial warranty terms before ordering.
