For the Dynamic and Maxxus models in this collection, Golden Designs publishes magnetic-field readings in milligauss (mG) measured at approximately 2 inches from the heater panels.
How is Low EMF measured on these infrared saunas?
Golden Designs measures the magnetic field produced by the heater panels in milligauss (mG). Its Low EMF carbon heaters are published at an average of approximately 5–10 mG when measured about 2 inches from the heater panel.
The distance matters. An EMF number without the measurement distance does not give a complete comparison. When reviewing another sauna, check the unit used, the distance from the heater, and whether the result applies to the exact model being considered.
Is Low EMF the same as Ultra Low EMF or Near Zero EMF?
No. Golden Designs treats Low EMF, Ultra Low EMF, and Near Zero EMF as separate classifications.
Its manuals describe Low EMF carbon heaters at approximately 5–10 mG and Ultra Low EMF heaters at approximately 3–5 mG when measured at about the same 2-inch distance. Near Zero is another distinct product classification. A sauna should only be described using the classification published for that exact model.
What does ‘lowest EMF sauna’ actually mean?
“Lowest EMF” is not a standardized technical classification. It generally refers to a sauna marketed or measured as having lower electromagnetic field readings than other models, but the number alone does not tell the full story.
To compare EMF ratings properly, check what type of field was measured, the unit used, the distance from the heater, the part of the sauna tested, and the exact model. A lower headline number is only meaningful when the testing conditions are comparable.
Does Low EMF mean an infrared sauna is EMF-free?
No. Low EMF does not mean zero EMF or EMF-free. Electrical equipment produces electromagnetic fields, and the Golden Designs Low EMF classification refers to measured magnetic-field output from the infrared heater panels.
Terms such as “zero EMF,” “near zero EMF,” and “Low EMF” should not be treated as interchangeable unless the manufacturer specifically uses that classification for the model.
Does the Low EMF rating include Bluetooth and other wireless signals?
Not based on the manufacturer figures used for this collection. The published Low EMF values refer to magnetic-field measurements from the heater panels in milligauss (mG).
Some Dynamic and Maxxus models include Bluetooth audio, but the supplied owner’s manuals do not provide comparable radio-frequency or electric-field test results for those wireless features.
